G4 Officially Making Its Return Next Month

Finally, all the Cops reruns we can handle. (Oh, we’re kidding.)

Eight years after it was put out to pasture, in the midst of American Ninja Warrior and Cops reruns, we are happy to report that G4 will be making its return – alongside some of its iconic programs. Brought back by Comcast Spectacor over a year ago on social media channels, G4 will finally make its return with traditional programming on November 16, 2021. It’ll be available across Comcast’s Xfinity TV, as well as Fios, Cox Communications, and internet streaming service Philo. As part of the launch, G4 will also collaborate with Twitch for a multi-year promotional and commercial partnership, through the network’s Twitch channel. It will also focus on content for its social media channels.

The channel will bring with it the return of X-Play and Attack of the Show!, two shows that have been staples of the network over the years. With Adam Sessler and Kevin Pereira on board, along with fresh new talent, there will be a lot of faces to see. G4 president Russell Arons noted, “We made a promise to fans that we would build this network with their input and are proud to say that our promise has been kept.”

Here’s the lowdown of what’s coming at launch:

  • “Attack of the Show!”, a reboot of the geek-culture variety show, hosted by Kevin Pereira, one of the original co-hosts;

  • “X-Play,” Adam Sessler is back for the revival of the game-reviews show;

  • “Boosted,” a weekly Esports comedy series covering the trends, news, and tournaments;

  • “Sasuke”: Reruns of all 167 episodes of the original Japanese competition series “Sasuke,” (adapted as “Ninja Warrior” in the U.S.). It will be licensed from Tokyo Broadcasting System Television and G4 will air three tournaments that have been previously unavailable in the U.S., Sasuke 35, 36, and 37.

  • ESL Gaming: G4 will produce and broadcast several primetime Esports programs with ESL Gaming, a first for the Esports organization in the U.S. and Canada. G4’s exclusive linear broadcast rights for ESL Pro Tour events will include the IEM Katowice 2022.

  • Dungeons & Dragons limited series: G4 continues its partnership with Wizards of the Coast (the official publisher of D&D) with a limited-run series set to premiere this fall. The series will follow four campaigns with a mix of G4 talent, veteran D&D players, and celebrities.

The cast includes various favorites, including Pereira, Sessler, WWE superstar Xavier Woods (under the name Austin Creed), among others such as Gina Darling and The Completionist, Jirard Khalil.
