We have all been waiting for the open beta for Battlefield 2042 since EA originally announced it in September. However, the beta did not happen this month due to the game being delayed and now releasing on November 19th. Now due to a leak from Bilibili’s live stream, Tom Henderson confirmed on Twitter that they leaked the correct dates for the open beta. These confirmed dates will be October 6th to October 9th, and he also advised this does not confirm that the beta ends on the 9th.
For those who don’t know, Bilibili is a Chinese video-sharing website based in Shanghai. They are mostly based around games and animation as well as other nerd-related media. Due to the fact that BF2042 has an account with Bilibili, Tom advises that the leaked information is credible.
EA originally planned on releasing the beta dates later this month with a trailer being released on the 29th of September. Tom Henderson advised that these plans could now change due to the unforeseen leak by Bilibili. Fans have already been waiting this long for updates and suffered one delay, which was seemingly caused by the pandemic. A further delay could lead to frustration with the player base.
What to Expect
As of now, there have been no changes made to the beta dates or game in regards to the leak. The game can be bought on PC, Xbox, and Playstation in the Standard, Gold, and Ultimate Edition. Starting at 599.99, players who preorder any version do get access to the beta. Also, the EA Play Pro members get 10 percent off the game entirely.
